Have you experienced sexual abuse?

Do you consider yourself as having “recovered” from this experience?

Are you
- Female?
- Over 18 years of age?
And did you have the experience after the age of 13? (This research
project will not be investigating sexual offences against very young
children.)

If so, we would like you to participate in our study. This research
focuses on how individuals with such an experience define “recovery”
and aims to identify factors that best facilitate the “recovery”
process. We are particularly looking at factors (such as behaviour and
attitudes) in relation to medical treatment, legal assistance, and
social support.

You will be asked to complete an online questionnaire regarding your
experience(s) with any medical/legal services which you encountered
after having experienced sexual abuse, as well as any social support
you may have received. Please note that a) you are under no obligation
to disclose information about any matter if you feel uncomfortable
doing so, b) this study investigates recovery and is thus not
appropriate for individuals in the midst of a crisis.

Your participation may be useful in helping others with similar
experiences in the future.
