Hi:

I have a friend who has both PTSD and panic attacks. He is in his mid 50's.

He started to tell me about 6 months ago that he had been pulled over by the
NJ police several times. The police then call in his license plate. In
almost every case, the police tell him he is a "trouble maker". They then
tell him he is not allowed to drive in either the town he is in or in NJ and
that he has too leave NJ. He has also told me that he was once pulled over
in NY and the same thing happened. They also threaten to do such things as
keep his license and/or arrest him.

This appears to have occurred over a dozen times and he keeps coming up with
new memories constantly.

He recently asked for his DMV records under the freedom of information act.
They are clean.

Could these be false memories?

my guess is the cops, perhaps by nature of the job, are allowed to "look
and guess"... leading to first-thought "mentalism"... macho behaviour
and a "don't argue with my first thoughts" attitude...
